MAINEiacs complete home and home sweep of Tigres with 4 - 2 win.

On Sunday afternoon, the Lewiston MAINEiacs continued their 2010 preseason schedule in Levis, QC with a second consecutive tilt against the Victoriaville Tigres. For the second day in a row, the MAINEiacs fell behind, but came back to earn a win, scoring four straight goals in a 4-2 win.

The first period didn't exactly start how the MAINEiacs envisioned, as Chris Doyle and Angelo Miceli put the Tigres ahead 2-0 in the first ten minutes of the contest. Lewiston never truly recovered from those two tallies, as Victoriaville held an 18-3 advantage in shots on goal during the opening stanza.

The tide began to turn in Lewiston's favor in the second period, as Samuel Henley put the visitors on the board from Colton Stairs at the 8:54 mark. Then, with 1:27 remaining, Stefan Fournier netted the equalizer, drawing assists from his brother Dillon, as well as Henley.

Early in the third period, the MAINEiacs took their first lead of the afternoon. At the 1:30 mark, Samuel Henley scored his third goal in two games, with the assist going to Christophe Lalonde. Ian Saab iced the victory with 1:30 left to go, with Marc-Antoine Rousseau picking up the lone assist.

For the second game in a row, Lewiston's second goaltender was perfect, as Antoine Bibeau stopped all 12 shots he faced, earning the win against his hometown team. Tyler Piercy got the start for the MAINEiacs, and made 17 saves on 19 shots. Former MAINEiac Dwayne Rodrigue stopped eight of nine shots for Victoriaville, before giving way to Brandon Whitney, who allowed three goals on 13 shots.

With their weekend sweep of Victoriaville, the MAINEiacs will now be off until Friday night, when they play the Quebec Remparts at the Premier Tech Centre in Riviere-du-Loup, QC. Face-off for that game is scheduled for 7: 30.

In the Community: On Monday afternoon from 4:00-6:00, the Lewiston MAINEiacs will be going to the Riverside Cemetery in Lewiston to help in repairing the damages from Friday night's scandal. The MAINEiacs invite everyone to bring their work gloves and join in the efforts!
