#Maineiacs News:New Team President, Players, and Asst. Coach w/ #NHL Ties

Reports around the team and confirmed by QMJHL sources have given us the following Maineiacs nuggets:

  • New president is Bill Schurman. His son is Tim is the assistant general manager. Bill's prior role was as the general manager of the Moncton Wildcats. This move would have been announced the first week of June, but immigration issues delayed it to now.
  • Jeff Guay and the organization were unable to come to terms on a contract, so they needed to look for another assistant coach to go along with Steve Finn. This one will be Darren Rumble - a former defenseman in the NHL and AHL, and the former head coach of the Norfolk Admirals. (He was awesome on NHL 95 for Sega)
  • There are two new players. Colton Stairs - an 18 year old 6'5", 235 lbs. left wing from Woodstock, NB, as well as Nick Jordan - a 17 year old 6'3", 210 lbs. right wing from Fredericton, NB.
  • There will be a new trainer as well, as Tom Bourdon has taken a job with the Springfield Falcons in the AHL.

No official announcements yet, but I would bet these become confirmed by the team in the next few days.
