The Lewiston MAINEiacs got all they would need in the 1st Period to take care of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in their 3 - 1 win Wednesday at The Androoscogin Bank Colisee.
The MAINEiacs got the scoring underway at 5:30 of the 1st. Sam Carrier collected the puck at the blue line on the right boards and threw the puck toward the net where Michael Chaput deflected it past Sagueneens' goaltender Christopher Gibson. The goal was Chaput's 2nd of the season.
MAINEiacs goalie Nicholas Champion seemed determined to keep that one goal lead. One of his biggest tests of the game was a 5 on 3 situation with MAINEiacs Antoine Houde-Caron (4 min Check from Behind, Game Misconduct) and Etienne Brodeur (2 min Check from behind) off.
