International Talk Like A Pirate Day, celebrated on September 19th of each year, was created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol' Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap'n Slappy) of Albany, Oregon. They proclaimed that everyone in the world should talk like a pirate for one day. The “holiday” and its observance evolved from a romanticized view of the Golden Age of Piracy.

Join the Pirates for the first Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Portland game of the season.
