Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced tonight that goaltender Jhonas Enroth has been recalled from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
This is the fourth recall of the season for Enroth (5’10”, 167 lbs., 6/25/1988), who has a record of 20-17-2 in 41 games with Portland, posting a 2.78 GAA and .912 save%. In six games with the Sabres this season, the 22-year-old Enroth is 3-2-1 with a 2.69 GAA and .906 save%. All three of Enroth’s wins have been in shootouts, giving him the distinction of being first goalie in league history to win his first three NHL games via the shootout.
A native of Stockholm, Sweden, the 22-year-old Enroth was selected by the Sabres in the second round (46th overall) of the 2006 Entry Draft.
