University of Maine freshman goalie Martin Ouellette (St.-Hippolyte, Quebec) has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for December. Ouellette finished December 2-1-0 with a 1.96 goals against average and a
.925 save percentage.
Ouellette began December with a 5-0 blanking at Providence where he made a career-high 32 saves in the game. It was the first career win for him to go along with his first career shutout. He then dropped a 4-3 decision in overtime to third-ranked
New Hampshire. Ouellette backstopped Maine's 3-2 overtime win against Cornell in the 2010 Florida College Classic where he made 21 saves.
Ouellette is 2-1-1 on the season with a 2.17 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
The Black Bears return to action on Saturday, Dec. 8 when they travel to Merrimack for a 4 PM tilt with the Warriors.
